Twitter has been awash with hype this morning over the revelation that Big Concerts South Africa are set to bring down the legendary American Foo Fighters. The news of the visit by Dave Grohl and co was sparked when Big Concerts tweeted a picture with their logo-initials in the colours of the South African flag. Foo Fighters themselves also posted a 17-second video to YouTube with the same image, the audio from ‘All My Life’ and the caption: “See you soon South Africa – hope you’re ready!”

This would mark a major coup for Big Concerts. As the size of their shows grows bigger and requires more widespread attendance in order to happen, securing acts that are still at the cutting edge of their genre becomes increasingly difficult. Foo Fighters, fronted by ex-Nirvana and current-hall-of-famer Grohl, are a band who will please most and excite many and are guaranteed to put on a seismic show.

News 24 are reporting that tickets will go on sale on Thursday the 26th of June. All details will be revealed today on the Roger Goode show at 4PM on 5FM and the Big Concerts website.
