Fresh off the back of Sebastiano Zanasi’s journey to the esteemed Red Bull Music Academy in Paris, and Luc Vermeer joining him to play a tour of the EU and UK, electronic golden boys Christian Tiger School have released visuals (via XLR8R) for the Okmalumkoolkat-featuring Chrome Tapes cut, ‘Damn January’.
The track itself is a nostalgically beatsy down-tempo departure from the overall dancier textures of their album and the video does a lot to echo that. The Chris Bisset-directed video features the gents and all their gear and an always-calm, superfly Okmalumkoolkat in a softly top-lit, blackened room performing the track with ease and candour.
- Vermeer having almost cultishly-characteristic tech troubles in the opening: “Seb, how do I…”
- Zwane speaking on a mini-champers-phone.
- Friends and fam (incl. Zwane’s manager, Jake Lipman) showing up in the freshest almost-all-black local and global streetwear
For a taste of their dancier sounds from Tommy Boy-released Chrome Tapes, check out the video (also by Chris Bisset) for lead single, Chorisolo:
