Churn Launch Lineup With Golden First Choices

Churn 2016 Fever Trails Mono Sono

And just like that, Churn has already killed it.

After announcing the dates for 2016 a short while back, the first two names on what will surely be a spectacular lineup for this year’s third iteration one of Jozi’s best one-night music expeditions are out. As an out-of-the-city experience run by some of the people making sure every night at Kitcheners in Braam is so excellent, alongside some other dreamy tastemakers like BeatNN, you couldn’t expect any less.

Fever Trails, has been low key on the mind and lips of many discerning music fans in the past few years. He forms part of the exciting collection of left-fielders Quit Safari, and has recently committed to being a solo live act (after running through a few iterations). Fever Trails has released a disjointed slew of unbelievably exciting music and performed a handful of transcendental shows including Boiler RoomCTEMF, Oppikoppi 2016 and a spiritual Quit Safari tour with UK’s Rival Consoles. Rumours say he’s releasing a new body of work between now and Churn, so keep tabs on him.

mono_sono, an underrated and elusive character in SA’s electronic music landscape, hails from Pretoria. Having worked with a massive spectrum of sounds, mono_sono is perhaps best described by the write-up on Churn’s recently launched event page: “mono_Sono’s ten ton heavy beats graze the depths of the bass music history books, shivering wholesomely as the milkshaking-belly of a corpulent footworker.”

For a taste of the latter, here’s his set from a recent Below The Bassline:
