There is no question that Cape Town Electronic Music Festival is the premiere annual sonic journey for the discerning electronic music devotee in the Mother City. No event on this magazine’s radar can top the ambition, diversity of musical stylings or the progressive attitude of the 3-day inner-city festival, which will be celebrating its 6th iteration in 2017.
Details are scant on anything to do with the festival – not even the venue or this year’s version of the increasingly iconic official artwork have been revealed. If the progress and success of this year‘s outing of the festival is anything to go by, we can expect tighter, stronger, slicker and more overwhelming than ever before.
While the current standing of SA’s currency may get in the way of massive foreign names being affordable for the ambitious and not-so-risk-averse festival directors involved, the flow and feel of the festival will no doubt be yet another one for the books.
