Muse Festival continues to impress. As the festival’s debut date on the weekend of the 9 of December rolls closer, it’s organisers have kept us invested with a constant barrage of impressive artist announcement after impressive artist announcement. With five of the most on-the-nose curators coming together to present the festival in Wax On, Dope Goods Market, Nomadiq Music, We House Sundays and Black Major, it was always going to be a fantastic collection of talent.
The first of the eclectic group of organisers to show their hand was Wax On, who announced that the line-up for their Friday stage would host local legends such as Jozi’s DJ Kenzhero and Pierre-Estienne.
Now, the second set of acts has been announced for the Black Major Selects section. Black Major has quickly become a tastemaker in the world of artist management in South Africa, and their line-up brings together a well-chosen subset of the artists they’ve worked with.
The line-up presents the full spectrum of live performance types. It goes all the way from from Alice Phoebe Lou’s mostly acoustic live setup, all the way to Durban’s rising house and GQOM technician DJ Lag. In between these two lies the hybrid live electronic sounds of John Wizards, Christian Tiger School, Fever Trails and Card on Spokes.
