It’s been a huge year for Disclosure. Their break-out album, Settle, topped the UK charts and received widespread critical acclaim. Its genre-hopping, all-encompassing, anything-in-the-of-good-times sentiments won them fans the world over.
You wouldn’t blame them for resting on their laurels somewhat, or at least momentarily basking in the glow of all this new-found adoration, but this young British brother-duo are too energetic and full of ideas for that. Last month they dropped ‘Apollo‘, a serially catchy track well in line with their other club bangers, ‘White Noise‘ and ‘When A Fire Starts to Burn‘, and now they’ve released ‘Together’, yet another in a long series of collaborations.
For this, they’ve teamed up with ‘Latch‘ collaborators Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes, as well as the legend Nile Rodgers, who amongst a host of other career-spanning achievements, this year helped Daft Punk ostensibly start the ‘Summer of Smooth‘ with their world-dominating single ‘Get Lucky‘. ‘Together’ continues in that tradition, with Prince-inspired synth-funk and a glitched hook.
