Swedish electronic dream-pop producer, Dream Curtain, is one of those hidden gems you tend to stumble upon on the Internet, with talent that far-surpasses the understated bedroom-producer status he has granted himself. ‘Death’ is the first track he has released in months, but it comes with the promise of a ‘yet unannounced something’ for 2014. If this track is anything to go by, the future is very bright for William Hamparsomian.
Having garnered a huge amount of success on past tracks ‘There Could Have Been A Light’ and ‘This Landscape is Our Escape,’ he has built a captivating repertoire of dreamy synth-laden soundscapes inundated by the trance of his vocals and hints of glistening guitar riffs. ‘Death’ is yet another Dream Curtain classic, with influences ranging from the fellow Swede and glo-fi producer, Summer Heart, to the reverb-laden surf jams of Real Estate. You can grab it over on the Violent Success compilation ‘Retro Future’ here, along with some other brilliant tracks.
